The summit is held under the honorary presidency of Dr. Hoda Baraka, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Technological Skills Development, underscoring the strategic importance of digital skills development as a cornerstone of the future labour market.

WorkShift 2026 comes at a time when the global labour market is undergoing rapid transformation toward flexible work models and remote employment, alongside the accelerating growth of the digital economy and increasing reliance on specialized, borderless talent. These developments present significant opportunities for Egypt to strengthen its competitiveness in the global digital services market.

The summit will address a range of key topics shaping the future of work, including financial inclusion for freelancers, regulatory frameworks for modern work models, social protection and insurance schemes for digital workers, the role of digital platforms in job creation and connecting Egyptian talent with regional and international markets, as well as global best practices for managing remote teams and building agile organizations.

The event will also witness the signing of several cooperation protocols and strategic partnerships among key stakeholders within the digital employment ecosystem, aimed at advancing digital skills development and expanding employment opportunities for Egyptian youth.

WorkShift 2026 is supported by a number of leading organizations, including Vezeeta as the Digital Health Partner, Tech Source as Strategic Partner, and iCareer as the Skills Development and Employment Partner, in addition to several other partners from both the public and private sectors.

Commenting on the summit, Nermine El-Nemr, Founder of WorkShift Summit and CEO of Manteq Management, Training & Technology Solutions, the company behind the Job@ platform (formerly El Harifa), said:

“WorkShift 2026 is designed to bring together government entities, the private sector, industry experts, and decision-makers on one platform to move beyond discussions and into tangible action regarding the future of work in Egypt.”

She added:We are witnessing a fundamental transformation in the nature of jobs and the skills demanded worldwide. Freelancing, remote work, and the digital economy have become major drivers of economic growth and job creation. Through WorkShift 2026, we aim to establish a practical platform that delivers realistic solutions to the challenges facing freelancers while supporting Egypt’s national efforts to develop digital skills and strengthen its digital services exports.”

El-Nemr emphasized that the summit represents an important opportunity to foster collaboration among all stakeholders shaping the future of work, contributing to the development of a more resilient ecosystem that empowers Egyptian youth to compete globally and transforms Egyptian talent into a key driver of economic growth and sustainable development.

WorkShift 2026 is the first executive platform of its kind in Egypt to bring together government entities, financial institutions, technology companies, entrepreneurs, and freelancers to discuss the future of work and produce actionable recommendations and strategic partnerships that support Egypt’s transition toward a more competitive and sustainable digital economy.
