MBG Developments Signs Agreement with Hilton to Open Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Barr

MBG Developments has signed an agreement with Hilton to open Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Barr within the Doray Bay development in Ras El Barr, a mixed-use project being developed by MBG Developments in partnership with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA).
The agreement introduces one of Hilton’s internationally recognized hotel brands to a waterfront destination that combines residential, hospitality, commercial, and entertainment components. The development also features the Delta’s first fully integrated 1.1-kilometre seaside promenade, a sea pier, and a yacht marina.
Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Barr will comprise approximately 160 guestrooms operated under the Hilton Garden Inn brand and managed according to Hilton’s international hospitality standards. The hotel will enjoy direct sea views, will be located less than 200 metres from the beach, and will sit above the project’s main retail district, offering guests convenient access to restaurants, retail outlets, and lifestyle amenities.
The hotel will include a comprehensive range of facilities, including multiple dining venues, a fully equipped fitness centre, a spa, event and banquet spaces, and a private swimming pool, providing guests with a complete seaside hospitality experience.
Dr. Mahmoud El Adl, Chairman of MBG Developments, said Doray Bay represents a successful model of cooperation between the Egyptian government, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, and the private sector. He noted that such partnerships accelerate urban development while supporting Egypt’s objective of expanding its hotel capacity to around 300,000 rooms by 2030.
Dr. Mahmoud El Adl added that Doray Bay is one of Ras El Barr’s most distinctive developments, with every unit enjoying uninterrupted sea views. The project also features the city’s largest sea-facing terrace, while all buildings are equipped with elevators. He noted that all units will be delivered fully finished, with handovers scheduled to begin in 2027, reinforcing the project’s competitiveness among Egypt’s leading residential, tourism, and leisure developments. He added that partnering with Hilton significantly enhances the project’s investment value through the group’s globally recognized expertise in hotel management.
Dr. Amr El Adl, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MBG Developments, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating that Hilton’s management and operational expertise will ensure a world-class guest experience built on internationally recognized standards of quality and service. He added that the agreement forms part of MBG Developments’ broader strategy to diversify its portfolio and achieve sustainable growth across both the real estate and hospitality sectors.
Dr. Amr El Adl said Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Barr aligns with Egypt’s strategy to develop new tourism destinations, expand hospitality investments, and accelerate hotel room development through public-private cooperation in order to meet growing tourism demand and support the country’s goal of welcoming 30 million visitors annually by 2030.
He further noted that Doray Bay also benefits from Ras El Barr’s rich historical and cultural significance, having long been associated with King Farouk and members of the royal family, as well as iconic Egyptian artists, including Umm Kulthum, making it one of Egypt’s most distinguished coastal destinations.
Carlos Khneisser, Chief Development Officer, Middle East and Africa, Hilton, said the company is pleased to partner with MBG Developments on Hilton Garden Inn Doray Bay Ras El Barr, describing the hotel as ideally positioned within a mixed-use waterfront destination in the Nile Delta. He emphasized that Egypt continues to offer significant long-term opportunities for hospitality development.
“We remain committed to expanding our portfolio in Egypt and look forward to further strengthening our presence across the country,” said Carlos Khneisser. “We are pleased to partner with MBG Developments on this project, supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 by strengthening the country’s appeal as a leading global tourism destination and contributing to the continued growth of its hospitality sector.”
